Drawn cup needle roller bearings are needle roller bearings with a thin drawn and formed outer ring. Its main features are a very low section height and a high load-carrying capacity. It is mainly used for compact and low-cost bearing devices, and the inner hole of the bearing housing cannot be used as a raceway for the needle roller cage assembly. Bearings and housings must be mounted with an interference fit. Housing bores can be made extremely simple and economical if axial locating features such as housing shoulders and snap rings can be omitted.
Drawn cup needle roller bearings installed on the shaft end have double-sided open type:
(1) and single-sided closed.
(2) The base end face of the closed drawn outer ring can withstand a small axial guiding force.
Drawn cup needle roller bearings usually have no inner ring, if the journal cannot be hardened and ground, the inner rings listed in the table can be used. The outer ring of the hardened steel plate and the needle roller cage assembly of the pulled out needle roller bearing cannot be separated. Free space to store lubricant allows for extended lubrication intervals. Bearings are generally of single-row design. However, wider sizes of bearings in the 1522, 1622, 2030, 2538 and 3038 series are excluded, which are fitted with two needle roller and cage assemblies. The outer ring of the bearing has lubrication holes. According to the needs of users, all single row drawn cup needle roller bearings with a shaft diameter greater than or equal to 7mm can be equipped with outer rings with lubricating oil holes (code suffix AS1).
