How to test deep groove ball bearings

Bearings are important precision components in machine operation. A few simple skills during installation or use can bring synergies to overall productivity. The following is a brief introduction to some traditional techniques for judging the use of bearings.

In the manufacturing process, some of the maintenance personnel lack the common sense to identify various rolling bearings, but as long as they confirm that the disassembled rolling bearings have no obvious damage, they will set the machine to continue to use, resulting in major consequences. The bearings will then be damaged.

Regardless of whether there is a difference or not, some maintenance personnel only need to remove the bearing part of a specific component, and the bearing needs to be replaced. Treating reusable bearings as waste can cause excessive financial loss.

Strictly speaking, the technical state of roller bearings needs to be determined with special bearing inspectors. In addition, you can also use the dial to measure the data of the bearing to judge whether it can continue to be used. In general repair shops, although there are no such measuring instruments and measuring instruments, bearings can be inspected and judged using accumulated experience and know-how.

Observe the rolling bearing directly with your eyes. The inner and outer laces, without peeling or fraying, must show smooth and shiny curved grooves.

The surface of all moving bodies must be smooth and free of spots, cracks, peeling, and delamination. The moving body of the same bearing has the same size and wears evenly.

Don't damage the cage, damage or be too loose, and don't let the gap between the cage and the moving body be too large.

During observation, no matter which point is known to be problematic, it is inappropriate to use it continuously.

The gap between the inner ring and the outer ring and the moving body of the new bearing is generally 0.005 ~ 0.01mm.

Long-term use of rolling bearings can be used to pinch the inner wheel with your fingers to swing in the axial direction. If there is no sound, it can be used directly. If it squeaks, it can be used directly. A gap of more than 0.02mm indicates a need for repair or replacement.

Rotation

Hold the inner race of the bearing with one hand and turn the outer race with the other hand. The bearing can rotate flexibly without clogging, and the bearing can continue to be used when there is no gap in radial shaking.

In the case of no flexibility in rotation, it may be caused by detachment of the moving body of the raceway or the inner and outer rings or other damage.

In order to correctly judge rolling bearings, it is necessary to combine the above three methods for inspection.

In the case of conical bearings, observe whether the movable body falls in the middle of the outer wheel, and must not exceed 1.5mm when advancing. In other cases, exchange is required.

When rolling bearings and inner and outer track bearings are used, the gap between the inner and outer tracks and the moving body shall not exceed 0.06mm, and those exceeding this limit must be replaced.
