Thrust ball bearings are separable bearings, consisting of a shaft ring (cooperating with the journal), a seat ring (cooperating with the bearing seat), a set of steel balls and a cage. When installing, it can be easily matched with the journal and the bearing seat respectively.
Thrust ball bearings include one-way thrust ball bearings, two-way thrust ball bearings, and angular contact thrust ball bearings according to different structures.
One-way thrust ball bearing

One-way thrust ball bearings can bear axial loads in one direction, but cannot bear radial loads. Axial positioning in one direction is possible.
One-way thrust ball bearings are divided into plane races and self-aligning races. Generally, the plane seat ring does not allow angular error, but in the support design, a gap of 0.5 ~ 1 mm can be left between the outer diameter of the seat ring and the mating surface of the bearing seat for compensation. Thrust ball bearings with self-aligning seats can also be used to compensate for angular errors in installation. But the self-aligning seat needs to be ordered separately.
Double direction thrust ball bearing

Two-way thrust ball bearings can bear axial loads in two directions. But it cannot bear radial load. Can do axial positioning in two directions.
Two-way thrust ball bearings are also divided into flat races and self-aligning races. Generally, the plane seat ring does not allow angular error, but in the support design, a gap of 0.5 ~ 1 mm can be left between the outer diameter of the seat ring and the mating surface of the bearing seat for compensation. Thrust ball bearings with self-aligning seats can also be used to compensate for angular errors that occur during installation. But the self-aligning seat needs to be ordered separately.
Angular Contact Thrust Ball Bearings

Angular contact thrust ball bearings mainly bear axial loads and can also bear a small amount of radial loads.
Compared with thrust ball bearings of the same size, the allowable limit speed is higher. Axial positioning in one direction is possible.
Angular contact thrust ball bearings have two types of contact angles: 45° and 60°, which are especially suitable for applications where axial loads are the main bearing and radial loads are combined. It can also compensate for the deficiency that the plane thrust ball bearing can only bear axial load but not radial load. The radial load that the structure can bear depends on the size of the contact angle. Generally speaking, the smaller the contact angle, the greater its ability to bear radial load.
Thrust ball bearings with housing

The structure of the thrust ball bearing with an outer cover is basically the same as that of the one-way thrust ball bearing. But there is an outer cover on the seat ring (or a cover on both the inner and outer diameters of the seat ring). Due to the outer cover, the thrust ball bearing with the outer cover becomes an inseparable bearing, and the function of the outer cover is to prevent dust. The structure shown in Figure 2 can also be filled with grease.
Thrust ball bearings with an outer cover can bear axial load in one direction, but cannot bear radial load. Axial positioning in one direction is possible.
